Did the Hawks’ loss leave you low?

That was a rough one. But you can fight off the blues (at least the emotional ones) with exercise.  We can even cite an article written by an RN to back up this claim:  Cheaper Than Therapy – How running can help fight off depression and anxiety.

So, hit the Trojan Trot course and get a run or a walk in.And, if you haven’t already registered for the big day, get on it!

Rome wasn’t built in a day…

Did you know that Rome is believed to have been founded on this date way back in 753 BC? It started out small and probably fairly rustic, but over the years, Rome has gotten to be an amazing place. So today, let’s use Rome as an inspiration.

We all have plans. Whether your plans include health and fitness, home improvement, growing your business, improving your financial situation or finding a new place to call home, we have people in our community to help. Take a look at our Sponsors. We’re betting that you find what you need to keep building your personal empire.

The Trojan Trot team has a plan, too. We want as many of you to join in the event as possible. You’ll be helping fund some more green improvements at St. Juliana and getting to participate in a pretty great day. To entice you, if you register by the end of today, you will be entered to win a Brinkman charcoal Smoker/Grill. Just think how that would improve your summer plans!

We all have plans. Let’s keep building them together!

TBT – Jogging in the olden days

1979 runners

We thought you might like a trip back to 1979 today. Don’t you miss this look? We’ll be providing registered Trojan Trot runners with a t-shirt of course but there’s nothing to stop you from running a few practice laps of the course in your fanciest track suit between now and race day!

Don’t forget about the Early Bird registration raffle. There’s just one more week to qualify as an early bird and get a chance at winning the Brinkman Charcoal Smoker/Grill. So, get registered already!

Spring is here?

The snow is flying one minute, the next minute the Trojan Trot course is a few inches deep in rainwater. Sounds like spring in Chicago as usual. We have every confidence that by race day the weather will be beautiful and it’ll once again be a great day for a run with a few hundred of your closest friends.

While we wait for the weather to warm up, we can bask in the glow of knowing that we have so many great sponsors for this year’s Trojan Trot. Many of them have been with us from the very first year and we couldn’t be more appreciative! Please take a look at the “Thanks to Our Sponsors” section and definitely remember these businesses when you need goods and services in our neighborhood.

Don’t forget about our Early Bird registration raffle. Register for the Trojan Trot by April 21, 2016 and your name will be entered in the drawing for the Brinkman Charcoal Smoker/Grill. It will be great for your backyard when warm weather finally does arrive…or to warm yourself over in the event of a late May blizzard.
